Frosty sunrise in Devon

Sometimes when I’m out on my bike I spot a location that plays on my mind for a long time.

This place has been niggling at me for over a year. I needed a frosty start, but the winter had been very mild.

So when I woke to a thick frost and a cirrus-swept sky, I knew exactly where to go. I got a few strange looks from people on their way to work and a pair of swans seemed quite perplexed by my appearance in this otherwise overlooked spot, but it didn’t matter. The swans soon calmed down, the commuters went on their way and the scene was every bit as beautiful as I’d imagined.
