Devon gateway sunrise.

After an unsuccessful trip to Pilsdon Pen in Dorset to get a misty morning photograph, I hopped back over the border into Devon. I was starting to think I was going to go home empty handed, as no matter where I drove, I couldn’t seem to find a suitable scene.

It was when I was no more than two miles from my house that I saw this gateway and, fortunately, mist in the vale below it.

It’s a good reminder that sometimes there is no need to travel a long way. Beauty can be found right under your nose – if you’re looking.
