Dorset opium poppies

There are a few locations I have had earmarked for years, so it’s always a pleasure to finally have the chance to photograph them. This opium poppy field in Dorset is one of those places. It had been a rotten July day, but the weather forecast had promised a brief break in the cloud in the evening, just before sunset. I timed my arrival to meet with this break and luckily the sun did come out for a few brief minutes, allowing me to finally get this shot of a lonely tree surrounded by pretty pink poppies.
