‘Redstart’ Painted Stone

This beautiful summer visitor to the UK is sadly declining. The males have rich red bellies and smart grey backs with black faces and silvery-white foreheads. I spent a good long while watching one singing amongst mature Beech trees last year and it was a delight. I’ve had the image of him in my mind for nearly a year now and finally I’ve got it down onto a stone.
